The Dambulla Cave Temple, also known as the Golden Temple of Dambulla, is a revered Buddhist temple complex that dates back to the 1st century BCE. It consists of five caves containing over 150 statues and murals related to Buddha and other deities. The caves are filled with intricate paintings that depict the life of the Buddha, making it one of the largest and most important cave temples in Sri Lanka. The temple sits atop a 160-meter rock and offers panoramic views of the surrounding area, including the iconic Sigiriya rock.
